CORPORATE CHALLENGE

In an effort to encourage more companies to increase their support of United Way, Kimberly-Clark created two traveling trophy awards that recognize other companies conducting outstanding campaigns.

Greatest Increase in Employee Giving

Presented to the company that has the greatest percentage increase in employee giving with a minimum $20,000 raised the previous year.

Menasha Corp. - Together with leadership fro the Human Resource team and local union USW 2-201, employees rallied throughout the organization with an increase of 37% in giving. 

   
    

Greatest Increase in Employee Participation

Presented to the company with the greatest increase in employee participation with a minimum of 100 eployees and 25% employee giving.

SCA Tissue - Their success began when Bonnie Timm, UWFC Board member representing Labor, focused on rallying her co-workers to participate in the campaign.  Plant participation increased by 102% thanks to the team representing the two manufacturing plants with USW Local 2-324 and Local 2-1279, along with the corporate office employees.

   
    

LEADERSHIP / EMERGING LEADER

This award is given to a company that includes strategies to promote higher levels of giving within the workplace. 

The award was presented to Kimberly-Clark for achieving phenomenal results in both areas.  Pictured are Margaret Curry, Peggy Nabbefeldt and Amanda Wilson who spearheaded the efforts.  K-C employees received opportunities to learn about United Way's work through agency visits.  They had 190 leadership donors whose gifts totaled $287,000, a 30% increase from last year.  They had 235 Emerging Leaders, more than a three-fold increase from last year's 68 members. 

   
    

EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGN MANAGER / TEAM OF THE YEAR

ECMs and internal committee members are instrumental in planning, communicating and implementing the United Way message. This award provides a chance to recognize those who displayed exemplary leadership, creativity and enthusiasm.

Lakeview Credit Union won in the Small Organization category (< 50 employees).  With 100% participation, and employee giving up 8.1%, they did a wonderful job of communicating goals and the importance of employee giving from all levels of the organization. 

   
    

Bassett Mechanical was the recipient in the Medium Organization category (151 - 499 employees).  The campaign had strong support from management,UA Local 400 and SMWIS Local 18.  Employee giving was up 110% above last year.  Pictured are Patty VanRyzin and Danielle Soland who, along with the  Bassett team achieved a whopping 389% increase in participation.  

   
    

Festival Foods won the award in the Large Organization category (> 500 employees).  They did a phenomenal job with employee participation reaching an all-time high of 97% and employee giving increasing by 29%.  Store managers at both locations played an integral role in promoting United Way as part of their corporate culture.  Pictured are Jay Kilsdonk- volunteer spokesperson, and Lindsey Neuber, Employee Campaign Manager. 

   
    

Also winning in the Large Organization category was Outagamie County.   County Executive Tom Nelson and Employee Campaign Manager Craig Moser inspired employees to support the campaign.  As a result, giving increased by 25%. They really make a difference by raising awareness of how United Way is building a stronger, more caring community for everyone.  Pictured are employees from Brewster Village.
