MyFreeTaxes.com

The MyFreeTaxes Partnership is an interactive resource of information for tax preparation, valuable tax credits, and personal finance. It provides access to free, online state and federal tax filing preparation for qualified individuals. 

The MyFreeTaxes Partnership’s online and in-person tax preparation and filing services have helped millions of families claim billions of dollars in tax credits and refunds since 2009. It is one more step for individuals and families in Wisconsin to be empowered to overcome the obstacles towards financial stability.

The MyFreeTaxes partnership is made possible through the collaboration of nearly 1,000 partners including the United Ways in Wisconsin, the IRS, colleges and universities, nonprofit organizations, and state and local government agencies.


IRS Free File

IRS Free File lets qualified taxpayers prepare and file federal income tax returns online using guided tax preparation software. It’s safe, easy and no cost to you. Those who don’t qualify can still use Free File Fillable Forms. Individual tax filers, regardless of income, can use IRS Free File to electronically request an automatic tax-filing extension. 


VITA and TCE Tax Assistance

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free tax help for taxpayers who qualify. To find a VITA and TCE location, visit the Treasury website for Free Tax Prep.
