FAQ
What if my organization is unsure if we fit the 2026-27 funding priorities?
Please consider attending our office hours in October for guidance, or reach out to grants@unitedwayfoxcities.org
How much funding is available in this grant cycle?
United Way Fox Cities only commits to funding what we raise each year. Final funding decisions follow the conclusion of our annual fundraising campaign in March. Because of this, the total amount available is not known in advance.
What is the typical grant size?
Grant sizes vary depending on the scope of services, demonstrated community need, and available resources. In past years, awards have ranged widely. We encourage applicants to request the amount needed to deliver services aligned with our priorities and to clearly explain how funds will be used.
Do I have to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI)?
Yes. Only organizations that submit an LOI during the open period (October 1–31, 2025) will be considered for the full application. Not all LOI submissions will be invited forward.
Why is there an LOI step?
The LOI helps save time and reduce burden for nonprofits. It allows us to confirm eligibility and fit within our 2026-2027 funding priorities before inviting organizations to complete the more detailed application.
What types of services are eligible for funding?
Please review the Funding Priorities section of the RFA for a detailed explanation.
What will the reporting requirements be if we are funded?
Reporting is designed to be light-touch and reflective. Grantees will be expected to share demographic information about individuals served, and other quantitative results and insights from their work. The specific reporting format is still being developed and will incorporate ongoing input and feedback. Final instructions will be provided prior to the full application deadline on January 31, 2026.
